What is the Color Category?

OFF-WHITE – because of its Value of 9.36 and Chroma of 0.78. This is the color for you if you’re looking for a creamy off-white. It falls on the warmer side of the yellow hue family. Closer to the middle of the yellow hue family than the neighboring yellow-red hue family. Which is a good thing for that factor of creamy off-white that’s less likely to flash peach or pink. It’s nice and bright with a Value of 9.36. And with a Chroma of 0.78 it has some body and substance but won’t be mistaken for a beige or tan.

For exterior, I would definitely test this one out if you’re wanting to go white but not blinding, glaring, stark white.

I recommend Samplize Peel & Stick samples because they’re real paint.

How do we know it’s an off-white? Because we have hue, value, chroma and LRV color notations that describe what colors look like. So, we can easily sort and categorize paint colors:

Whites
Value 9.12 to 10.00
Chroma less than 0.55
Off-Whites
Value 9.12 to 10.00
Chroma 0.55 to 1.15
