What is the Color Category?
WHITE – because of its Value of 9.34 and Chroma of 0.52. A Chroma of 0.52 puts it on the upper end of the White category on the verge of being off-white. So there is a fair amount of colorfulness in Kelly Moore’s #23. It’s the brightness of a Value of 9.34 that gives it a sense of light and airy. Not heavy.
How do we know Swiss Coffee by Kelly Moore is a white? Because we have hue, value, chroma and LRV color notations that describe what colors look like. So, we can easily sort and categorize paint colors:

Hi there! On the Acadia White post, I saw the information about the rule of thumb of .20 difference in Chroma for two adjacent colors of white. I am wondering if that is a minimum amount of difference, so for example, Acadia White with Kelly Moore Swiss Coffee for trim is a bigger difference in Chroma. Would that be OK? As far as I can tell matching visually from a sample and with Color Muse, the existing trim and cabinets are KM Swiss Coffee. I am looking for a compatible white in yellow hue family for walls in the whole house (primarily South and West facing windows).
