Thought you might like to see Pantone’s “Color of the Year” 2000 – 2011 all in one place. It was fun putting them all together in this infographic and it’s definitely a colorful final image.
Looking at all of these colors together is a bit like flipping through a photo album. Do you remember where you were and what you were doing when Chili Pepper was named Color of the Year? (ok, maybe that’s a bit much) But — color is definitely part of our memories and color associations form and can often stay with us forever. What about you, does this chronological list of colors bring back a memory or two?
Enjoy!
Wait, there’s a podcast about the colour yellow?! That is nearly the most exciting thing I’ve heard this week. I will not move from my desk until it is up.
Back to the subject at hand – I like this post; what a great idea. I am not at all surprised that red features so heavily as it is the most marketable colour out there. [Strawberry jam is the best selling jam because it’s so (artificially) red.] Interestingly, this years ‘Honeysuckle’ is almost as asexual as last years Turquoise… Alright, enough with the negative response to this years colour; I have been thinking about how I would use Honeysuckle, if you know, I really had to and it’s an interesting challenge. I might do a blog post about it.
