As a Color Strategist, it is imperative to understand human vision system physiology.
For example, do you know why we see in 3 dimensions (3D)?
If you guessed because we have two eyeballs and can see from two points of view at the same time, you are two-thirds correct.
Two eyeballs are required for 3D vision but the brain is also important.
Our sense of depth, or z-axis, happens in the brain as it overlaps different visual information captured by each eye.
Can’t see 3D with just one eye. Rather, we presume it. Minus one eye, memory of learned experiences kicks in. Your brain finds visual clues and uses what it knows about overlapping images from two fields of vision, left and right eyes, to fill in the blanks.
Cool, huh? Everything about the brain, eyes and color vision is cool.
You cannot design or create strategies *for* things you don’t understand.
If you understand the above, then you get why, as a Color Strategist, it is imperative to understand human vision system physiology.
