Time to get colorgraphical. Pantone’s Color of the Year 2012 Tangerine Tango is quite the buzz. Here’s an infographic of Pantone Colors of the Year going all the way back to the very first Color of the Year announced in 2000.
Included RGB values (TPX) and HEX codes for your convenience. Feel free to share, just remember the information in the brown box at the bottom must remain attached.
Enjoy!
What a great way to illustrate the history of colour over the last 10 years. Thanks for sharing this!
I agree that this graphic is great! Re: the color of the year, this is close to a bedroom color I had in college, in 1979. I wanted to “stay awake” and not fall asleep in bed while I was studying. (Even when I was renting I always had to paint my rooms.) I remember when the landlord came in and saw the intense coral color, he said “Wait a minute till I screw my eyeballs back in!” Luckily, he was a good sport.
I am so glad I found this lovely color of the year illustration this morning. Well done!
Such an interesting area.
I have to say I love your colorbudz pod casts and enjoy listening to them when I’m driving – the points you make are clear and interesting, so thank you for doing them.
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Niki, we have more podcasts coming up. Already told a few color budz about the upcoming podcast on the color pink. Amanda Burdge from AB Home Interiors hopped on the podcast with Kelly, Rachel and me for that one.
Lots more activity for Color Strategies and Color Budz planned for 2012. Hope you’ll join us
Happy holidays to all! 🙂
I love orange, it’s a very happy and energetic color – this color would do well in the dining room, well maybe not quite as vibrant, but still beautiful. I’ve read it’s a color of change and that’s so appropriate for next year when we all hope the change will be for the good of all mankind.
Lori – all the best to you and I hope the New Year brings you lots of work.
May years ago, I worked for Letraset Canada and we carried the Pantone Line. Ii is a benchmark for the graphic arts industry and the colours are the true colours.
